For me Can You See Her? is a painstaking story of what we had to face in consequence when we let anger or resentment beat the best of us until it succumbs us down and dominates us entirely.
I will admit it, I had cried really ugly while preparing meals today and had to endure it for a while since my mom looking at my direction and continues went she left. If I don’t have my shirt sleeve to shed tears, then I might run out of tissues. All I want is to weep and left my shirt soaking wet. It’s incredibly touching.
The story itself makes it unputdownable since page one. Even the language left out a piercing into my soul and touch my every sense. Simply because it was grim and realistic. And believe me, any woman with a motherly heart would felt that with her whole heart, if she has given the book it’s chances as the pace slightly slow.
I also loved the dedication and consideration the author inserts into her stories and in every line, making those that still and forever struggle to feel better even a bit, therefore able to take hold of their life and resurrect from their suffering. It’s not easy and you are forever strong.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to engross herself into the aftereffect of tragic events, to feel their pain and struggle to cope with their surroundings and know that there’s a way to get through.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me excess to this eARC.
What would you do if no-one was watching?
Rachel is afraid she may have done something terrible. She’s sitting in a room, being asked whether she killed someone.
She doesn’t understand how her life has changed so completely. When she was younger, heads would turn when she walked into a room. Her children needed her; her husband adored her.
But somehow the years wore that all away. She was so busy raising her children, looking after her parents, that the woman who used to be Rachel Ryder, whose husband told her she was out of his league, now quietly washes his clothes and makes his dinner, and can walk into a room without anyone knowing she’s there.
She knows that she thought: what would it take for you to see me again? What if I did something no-one thought I was capable of?
Can You See Her? is an utterly compelling and unputdownable psychological thriller, about how far you can push a woman before she will break. Perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn, A. J. Finn and The Silent Patient.
